This Lyric Portrait print of Gandalf from The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings was drawn entirely by hand using the lyrics to, “The Greatest Adventure.” (© 1977, Maury Laws), which was the theme song to the 1977 animated movie by Rankin/Bass. As a kid who loved dragons and wizards, I would excitedly await when this adaptation of Tolkien’s epic adventure tale was brought to life on television. The songs from this film were sung by Glen Yarborough, who immortalized the words contained in my portrait drawing:

Today and tomorrow are yet to be said
